What your mosque needs to use Minbar
October 6, 2026
The minimum
- One smartphone with internet and a charger. This is enough to start.
- A printed QR code at the entrance. Worshippers scan it and listen on their own phones.
- The sermon text in Arabic, or a speaker who can read from the teleprompter page.
The ideal set-up
- A laptop or tablet for the speaker or editor.
- A TV or projector with a browser (a smart TV, or a small streaming stick or mini PC on the HDMI port) to show the sermon on the big screen.
- Stable Wi-Fi or a mobile-data router, so the screen and the speaker stay online.
- A microphone or phone near the speaker if you want to offer live audio.
Who does what
- Institute admin: registers the institute, uploads the licence and ID, adds the bank details and the location, and invites the team.
- Editor: prepares the sermon text and checks the translations.
- Speaker: opens the teleprompter and presses Go Live.
- Volunteer: pairs the TV with the short code and prints the QR poster.
Before the first Friday
- Register and finish the verification steps. Approval follows the review.
- Publish a short test sermon and run it on your phone and your TV a few days ahead.
- Print the QR code and put it where people enter.
- Check the internet connection in the room where the screen is.
